Your 3D files never leave your device

When you upload an STL or OBJ file, it is read by your own browser using the File API and parsed in JavaScript on your machine. Volume, surface area, triangle count, and every number in your quote are computed locally. The file is never uploaded, never transmitted, and never stored on a server — PrintCost.site has no backend and no file storage to send it to.

What is stored on your device

Your currency choice, pricing rates, saved printer profiles, and which panels you left open are kept in your browser's localStorage. They stay on that device, are readable only by this site, and are never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes them.

No ads, no ad tracking

This site serves no advertising. There is no ad network on it, no advertising cookies, and no third-party ad script loading in the background — so nothing here is profiling you to sell you something.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and see which pages get traffic. It records aggregate visit data such as page path, referrer, country, and general device type. It does not use cookies and does not build a cross-site profile of you. We never see your identity, your files, or the values you type into the calculator.

What we never collect

  • Your 3D model files, or anything derived from their geometry
  • The print times, weights, rates, or prices you enter
  • Accounts, names, or passwords — there is no sign-up
  • Payment details — the calculator is free and sells nothing

Your choices

Blocking cookies or using a content blocker does not break the calculator — it runs entirely in your browser and works offline. If you are in a region covered by the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, you may request information about, or deletion of, any data held about you; because we operate no database and no ad network, such requests are directed to Vercel as the analytics controller.
